In the early winter of 2013 we kicked off our own marketing campaign with a website, postcards and flyers, social media promotion and getting the word out through family and friends. After a few months of some initial activity we realized that we needed a different approach for a few reasons:
- we didn’t have the time to keep up the marketing momentum
- we weren’t comfortable having discussions with prospective birthmothers and were unable to ask the right questions
- our marketing tactics weren’t very effective
Fortunately, around the same time, a friend of a friend shared their experience working with Tammy. We signed on with Tammy in September of 2013and immediately saw a return on our investment across several areas:
content feedback and creation: candid and constructive feedback on our website and profile book’s strengths and opportunities for improvement
marketing strategy: guidance on how to leverage the most optimal marketing channels
birthmother connections and conversations: personal coaching on how to discuss sensitive topics with birthmothers
The part of the experience that is hardest to quantify is the immense weight lifted off our shoulders knowing that an experienced professional was there to provide guidance and reassurance every step of the way.
Less than four months after beginning to work with Tammy, we welcomed the most incredible baby girl into our family on December 30th. Truly the best Christmas and New Years gift we could have ever dreamed of and we cannot even remember the period in our life when we worried that this might never happen.
Tammy was an integral part of our success. In fact, we couldn’t have done it without her and will certainly work with her again as we continue to build our family.
